Ribbon skirts hold significant cultural meaning among Indigenous communities in North America. These traditional garments serve as a powerful expression of Indigenous identity and heritage. Worn during ceremonies, powwows, gatherings, and special occasions (even sometimes casually!), they represent a connection to nature, traditions, and ancestral knowledge.
My grandmother Lillie Nell was cherished as a traditional dressmaker for our community. I hope she would be proud to see me carrying on her traditions.
Lillie Nell ribbon skirts are 100% cotton with polyester ribbon embellishments. This skirt was quilted with four fabrics to match the Lillie Nell OKA Lake earring design. All skirts feature deep hidden seam pockets.
Earrings feature sterling silver earwires and silver-plated brass findings.
All skirts will be finished to size upon order completion. Please include your waist size in the order notes or send me an email after checkout.
