Ribbon skirts hold significant cultural meaning among Indigenous communities in North America. These traditional garments serve as a powerful expression of Indigenous identity and heritage. Worn during ceremonies, powwows, gatherings, and special occasions (even sometimes casually!), they represent a connection to nature, traditions, and ancestral knowledge.
My grandmother Lillie Nell was cherished as a traditional dressmaker for our community. I hope she would be proud to see me carrying on her traditions.
Lillie Nell ribbon skirts are 100% cotton with polyester ribbon embellishments. All skirts feature deep hidden seam pockets.
Coordinating earrings are LIMITED EDITION and one of a kind-- this does not mean the pattern will not be used again, but the pattern + colorway is exclusive to this sale and will not be reproduced. Earrings feature sterling silver ear wires and silver-plated brass findings.
All skirts will be finished to size upon order completion. Please include your waist size in the order notes or send me an email after checkout.
